Practice

Somesh advises on matters that frequently move across traditional practice boundaries. Transactions that give rise to disputes, commercial relationships that require strategic restructuring, and regulatory or enforcement issues with wider business consequences. His approach combines legal analysis with a close understanding of the commercial objectives and risks underlying a matter.

His disputes practice includes domestic and international arbitration. On the transactional side, he advises companies, investors and founders across mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, corporate finance, transaction structuring and due diligence.

He also works with international businesses and law firms requiring coordinated Indian legal advice on cross-border transactions, disputes and regulatory issues, acting as India counsel on matters with multi-jurisdictional dimensions.

Career

After graduating from the University of Mumbai, Somesh began his legal career in New Delhi in the chambers of Adv. Abhimanyu Bhandari, where he spent four formative years developing his practice in arbitration, complex dispute resolution and enforcement matters.

In 2020, Somesh established Vardharma Law with a clear ambition, to build a firm capable of handling complex, high-stakes matters while remaining closely involved in the work and the relationships that drive it. What began with a founding team of three has since grown into a multi-practice firm advising domestic and international clients across disputes, transactions, regulatory matters and cross-border engagements.

As Managing Partner, he remains closely involved in both the firm's legal work and its broader strategic direction.
