Built through practice, shaped by perspective
Vardharma Law was established in 2020.
The firm was built on experience across disputes, transactions, advisory and regulatory work, areas that often appear distinct on paper but regularly overlap in practice.
A transaction can create a dispute years later. A regulatory issue can determine whether a commercial opportunity is viable. A dispute can affect ownership, operations and relationships far beyond the immediate legal question.
Those experiences shaped the way the firm was built.
Today, Vardharma Law advises businesses, investors, institutions and individuals across six core practice areas. As the firm continues to grow, the focus remains on bringing together strong legal work, commercial understanding and practical judgment.
The idea behind Vardharma
The Vardharma mark is built on the combination of two main ideas.
The V represents the meeting of different perspectives that often shape a single matter.
Running through it, the compass needle represents navigation which is making sense of those perspectives, identifying what matters most and charting a considered way forward.
Together, they reflect how we approach our work: bringing complexity into focus and helping clients move through it with greater clarity and direction.
The way to an answer matters
There is no standard way to approach every matter. The facts, the people involved and what is at stake will always differ. What remains consistent is the way we work through them.
Get to the heart of the matter
The question a client first brings to us is not always the only question that needs answering. We take the time to understand the wider context, what has happened, what is driving the issue and what the client is ultimately trying to achieve.
Keep the conversation direct
The lawyers leading a matter remain closely involved in it. We believe clients should have direct access to the people responsible for their advice and a clear understanding of how their matter is progressing.
Know when to push and when to resolve
Not every matter needs to follow the same path. Sometimes the right course is to negotiate. Sometimes it is to litigate, arbitrate or restructure an arrangement altogether. The focus is on making a considered decision about what will best serve the client’s position.
Grounded in India. Connected beyond it
Our work is rooted in Indian law and the realities of doing business in India.
At the same time, many of the matters we handle involve international businesses, foreign investors, offshore structures and cross-border transactions or disputes.
We work directly with international clients and alongside lawyers and law firms in other jurisdictions when a matter requires coordinated advice. Through a growing network of international relationships and referral connections, we are able to bring together the relevant perspectives while remaining closely involved in the Indian aspects of the work.
