Somesh Tiwari, Managing Partner at Vardharma Law, speaks on the panel “Mind of the Machine: Who Pays When AI Goes Wrong?” at the IBA Copenhagen 2026 Conference

We are pleased to share that our Managing Partner, Somesh Tiwari, served as a panelist and speaker at the International Bar Association Annual Conference 2026 in Copenhagen.

Somesh joined Davinia Cutajar, Tatjana Andoljsek LLM (Cambridge, UK), MBA, and Manavendra Mishra for “Mind of the Machine: Who Pays When AI Goes Wrong?” a timely discussion on one of the most consequential questions emerging from the rapid adoption of AI: When AI causes harm, where does liability lie?

The discussion examined how AI is challenging traditional approaches to fault, duty and causation, and what this means for businesses operating across jurisdictions where regulatory frameworks and principles of liability may differ. As AI moves from experimentation into everyday business and decision-making, questions of accountability, risk allocation and legal responsibility are becoming increasingly important.

We are proud to see Somesh contribute to this conversation at the IBA Annual Conference and to bring an Indian perspective to an increasingly global discussion on AI, liability and emerging legal risk.
